Background:
Once every generation, a band so brutal graces
your eardrums that induces you to cannibalize
your family, gnaw human infants, and behave like
Satan on a bad peyote trip. Pallida Mors is the
latest heir to this skull-adorned throne that in
the past has included such well known artists as
Slayer, Carcass, and NWA. These five intrepid
youth have combined their unique visions and
talents to create a skull-rending combination of
blast beats, breakdowns that could destroy city
blocks, dual-guitar leads that would have hair
metal bands urinating in their spandex, and more
time changes than a transatlantic flight.
Formed in the summer of 2005, these sick fucks
put on their robes of dark metal wizardry,
invented a set of songs more complex than
Fermat's Last Theorem, added a pinch of hardcore
influence, and a cynical humor direly needed in
today's cookie-cutter scene of overly serious
metalcore and yawn-inducing hardcore acts. What
resulted were some of the freshest songs to be
heard in Southern California, forcing people at
their first shows, sharing the stage with such
groups as Animosity, Ed Gein, and Reflux, to
drop their jaws and gasp in awe as this band
redefined the concept of what metal should be,
and synchronizing their guitar swings in the
process.
Their self titled demo, recorded in December of
2005, captures the fury and mayhem of their live
act, and is poised like a vulture over a corpse
to dominate the future of metal. With several
shows and legions of converted fans already made
in a short time, this recording and their
impending tours will be certain to capture the
ears and infernal souls of many a listener,
bridging the gap between technical ability,
marijuana tolerance, and headbanging groove that
so many fans of extreme music have heard in
their wet dreams, but have yet to hear. All bow
before the glory of Pallida Mors, and rejoice in
their metal supremacy!
